Learn How to Win Material: Discovered Attack
This puzzle shows a classic discovered attack idea: one piece moves with tempo, uncovering a stronger line of attack from another piece behind it. The key is that the hidden attacker targets something valuable, often a king, queen, or loose piece, while the front piece also creates a direct threat. In this position, the tactic is especially powerful because Black’s king safety is compromised and several pieces are overloaded or pinned, so White can convert activity into a decisive material gain.
