Learn How to Win Material: Fork Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Modern Defense and shows a classic middlegame tactical idea: using a forcing bishop move to create a fork. White’s active piece placement targets two major black pieces at once, and the key point is that Black’s queen and rook become vulnerable to the same attacking motif. Even though Black has extra material, the exposed king and loose back-rank coordination make the position tactically unstable. The lesson is that activity can outweigh material when enemy pieces are overloaded.
