Learn How to Win a Pin: Accelerated London System
This puzzle comes from the Accelerated London System and shows a classic opening tactic: using a pin to win time and improve piece activity. In the opening, development and king safety matter more than grabbing pawns, and a well-timed pin can force awkward defensive moves. When a piece is pinned to the king or a more valuable target, the opponent’s coordination drops quickly. That often creates tactical pressure, especially when the pinned piece also blocks other lines or protects key squares.
