King's Knight Opening Puzzle (Rated 1474): Fork — Win a Hanging Knight
Loose pieces are quiet liabilities in the middlegame: any undefended piece invites the opponent to take it. The strongest version of this idea packs two threats into one move. When a king has lost part of its pawn shield, the exposed diagonals become danger zones, and a checking piece can strike the king while also hitting another enemy piece. Here Black's knight sits on a strong central outpost, but its defender is blocked by its own pawn, so the knight hangs. One checking move that also hits that knight creates a fork the defense cannot fully meet.
