Learn How to Win Material: Pin Tactic
This middlegame puzzle shows how a pin can turn a strong-looking position into a tactical win of material. In the King's Indian Defense, White’s queen and knight are placed so that one piece becomes overloaded and another becomes vulnerable to a follow-up capture. The key idea is that a pinned piece often cannot recapture safely, especially when the pinned line also exposes a second target. In practical classical chess, these short combinations are often about forcing the opponent into a losing simplification.
