Learn How to Deflect: Kingside Attack
This French Defense puzzle is a classic example of a crushing deflection in a kingside attack. White’s king safety is already compromised, and Black uses a forcing sacrifice to pull the king onto a vulnerable square. That removes the defender from the critical line and opens the way for a decisive queen strike. The position is tactical rather than quiet: material is secondary to king exposure, piece coordination, and the ability to exploit a pinned or overloaded defender.
