French Defense Knight Variation Puzzle (Rated 981): Fork — Win the Queen
When a middlegame position turns on a fork, a single knight jump can decide everything. A knight that reaches a deep outpost near the enemy king attacks exactly the squares the defender least wants to give up, and when the attack lands on the king it forces an automatic reply. Here Black's monarch still sits exposed in the center while the queen and rooks cluster within a knight's reach. Black may stand better on material, but coordination is what counts: one royal fork, followed by a second capture, turns a deficit into a decisive advantage.
