French Defense Exchange Variation Puzzle (Rated 952): Win a Queen — King Hunt
When an enemy king loses its pawn shield, it stops being a fortress and becomes a moving target. The key middlegame technique is a forced king walk: a chain of checks that pushes the monarch up the board, out of its shelter, toward squares your pieces already control. Each check drags the king onto a worse square where the next attacker lands. Meanwhile the opponent's aggressive bishop hangs loose, and the real refutation uses a forcing check that wins far more than the hanging piece was ever worth.
