Learn How to Win with a Discovered Attack: Englund Gambit
This puzzle comes from the Englund Gambit and shows how quickly a kingside attack can collapse when a piece is left hanging on a vulnerable diagonal. Black’s active bishop and queen coordination create a direct threat against the white king, while the extra material White has is irrelevant if the king is exposed. The key idea is a forcing discovered attack: one move gives check, and the follow-up opens a line for a second piece to join the attack with decisive effect.
