Learn How to Trap the Queen: Elephant Gambit Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Elephant Gambit and shows how a fast attack can punish an exposed king when development is lagging. Black’s pieces coordinate to create a direct threat against the white king, while also exploiting a trapped rook and loose kingside structure. Even though White is materially ahead, the position is dominated by king safety and tactical forcing moves. In classical chess, such positions often reward initiative over material, especially when the opponent’s pieces are uncoordinated.
