Learn How to Win a Trapped Piece: Dutch Defense Tactic
This puzzle comes from the Dutch Defense Rubinstein Variation and shows a classic middlegame tactic: a trapped piece combined with a tactical win of material. White’s queen and knight coordination create pressure on the queenside, where Black’s queen has wandered too far and can be punished. The key idea is not a direct attack on the king, but exploiting loose pieces, overloaded defenders, and the geometry of the board to win material with tempo.
