Learn How to Win with a Fork: Caro-Kann Exchange
This Caro-Kann Defense Exchange Variation puzzle shows how a forcing check can create a tactical fork and win material in the opening. Black’s active queen and piece coordination exploit the fact that White’s king is still in the center and several pieces are loose. In classical chess, these positions often reward the side with better development and king safety, even when material is close. The key idea is to use tempo-gaining moves to expose a vulnerable piece and then collect it.
