Learn How to Sacrifice: Kingside Attack
This puzzle shows a classic kingside attack built on attraction and clearance ideas. White uses a long opening sacrifice to drag the enemy king away from its shelter, then exploits the weakened dark squares around the king. In the middlegame, the attack works because Black’s pieces are slightly tied up and the king’s pawn shield is vulnerable. The position rewards active piece play over material count, which is a common theme in classical chess attacking play.
