Learn How to Win with a Pin: Alekhine Defense

This puzzle comes from the Alekhine Defense and shows how a pin can quickly turn into a forcing attack. In the opening, development and king safety matter more than grabbing pawns, and a well-timed check can expose loose pieces. Here Black uses active piece play to pressure the center and create tactical problems around White’s king and knight coordination. The key idea is that a pinned defender often cannot move without losing material or allowing a stronger tactical sequence.
