Learn How to Crush the Opening: Tactical Refutation
This puzzle shows a classic opening punishment where one careless central piece placement gets met by a forcing tactical refutation. In the opening, development and king safety matter more than grabbing space or chasing material. When an enemy knight lands on a strong central square with check, it can often create a skewer or discovered attack on a second target behind it. The key idea is that the first capture is only the beginning; the real point is the follow-up that wins material and leaves the opponent’s position collapsing.
