Learn How to Corner Mate: Mate in 1
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a corner mate pattern: the enemy king is boxed in near the edge, and one active knight delivers the final blow. Even though Black is materially ahead, king safety dominates the position. White’s pieces coordinate to exploit the exposed king and the lack of flight squares, turning a seemingly ordinary tactical moment into a forced finish. In classical chess, these are the positions where activity matters more than material.
