Learn How to Checkmate: Mate in 1
This puzzle is a classic middlegame checkmate pattern where king safety matters more than material. White’s pieces are already aimed at the black king, and the position contains several tactical clues: an exposed monarch, loose defenders, and a direct line for a forcing bishop move. In practical classical chess, these are the moments to stop counting pawns and look for the most forcing continuation. When the king has no safe escape squares, even a single bishop can end the game immediately.
