Learn How to Corner Mate: Checkmate Pattern
This puzzle shows a classic corner mate pattern in a middlegame setting from the Queen's Gambit Declined. The key idea is that the enemy king has very limited flight squares, while one well-placed piece can deliver immediate checkmate by using the board edge and nearby pieces as barriers. Even when material is roughly balanced, tactical geometry can decide the game instantly. In classical chess, these patterns often appear after active piece placement and loose king safety.
