Learn How to Spot F2-F7 Mate: Queen Sacrifice
This puzzle comes from the Queen's Gambit Accepted and shows a classic opening tactic built around king safety and piece activity. White’s queen and bishop are aimed directly at the vulnerable f7 square, where the black king has very little protection. In classical chess, these early mating nets often appear when development is lagging and the center is still open. The key idea is to recognize when a direct attack can end the game immediately instead of winning material first.
