Learn How to Spot: Morphy's Mate
This chess endgame puzzle is a classic example of a mating net where the enemy king has very few safe squares and one well-placed bishop can finish the game immediately. Even though the material balance may look playable, king safety is the deciding factor. In classical chess, these positions reward pattern recognition over calculation: once the king is boxed in by its own pieces and pawns, a single forcing move can end the game at once.
