Learn How to Mate in 3: Kingside Attack
This puzzle is a classic middlegame kingside attack where the attacking side uses active pieces to exploit a weakened king shelter. Even though the material is balanced, the king safety imbalance is decisive: the defender’s pieces are overloaded, key dark squares are vulnerable, and the attacking queen and bishop coordinate to create a mating net. In classical chess, these positions reward forcing play over material grabs, especially when the enemy king has limited escape squares.
