Learn How to Spot Mate in 3: Attacking f7
This middlegame puzzle is a classic attacking f7 pattern where White uses active pieces, king safety, and forcing checks to overwhelm the exposed black king. The key idea is to recognize when the enemy king is stuck in the center and the f7 square becomes a tactical target. Even in a materially lopsided position, a direct attack can outweigh material if the defender’s pieces are passive and coordination is poor. This is a great example of classical chess calculation over static evaluation.
