Learn How to Spot Mate in 2: Mating Net
This puzzle is a classic middlegame mating net: the attacking side uses a forcing check to drag the king into a vulnerable square, then finishes with a second decisive check. Even though one side may be materially ahead, king safety overrides everything when the enemy queen and rook coordinate on open lines. In classical chess, these patterns often appear when pieces are active and the king has limited flight squares.
