Learn How to Spot Mate in 1: Endgame Checkmate
This puzzle is a pure mating net in a simplified middlegame/endgame setting, where the attacking side has overwhelming material and the enemy king is boxed in by its own pieces and weakened pawn cover. In classical chess, these positions reward pattern recognition more than calculation: once the king’s escape squares are controlled, a single forcing move can end the game immediately. The key idea is to look for direct checks that also coordinate with existing pressure on the king zone.
