Learn How to Spot Mate in 1: Mating Net
This middlegame puzzle is a classic example of a mating net: the attacking side has coordinated pieces, limited escape squares, and a king that is already boxed in by its own army. Even when one side is materially behind, direct threats can override everything. In classical chess, spotting these forcing patterns is often more important than counting material, especially when the enemy king has weakened dark squares and no safe flight squares.
