Learn How to Killbox Mate: Mate in 3
This middlegame puzzle shows a classic killbox mate pattern: the attacking side uses forcing checks to drive the king into a cramped box and then finishes with a coordinated rook-and-queen net. The position is tactically loaded, with the enemy king lacking safe squares and key defenders overloaded. Even though the material balance favors Black, the attack is stronger because the pieces are active and the king shelter is vulnerable. In classical chess, these patterns often decide the game immediately.
