Learn How to Spot Kingside Attack: Mate in 2
This puzzle comes from the Italian Game and shows how quickly a kingside attack can turn into a forced mating net. White’s queen and bishop already create pressure around the enemy king, and Black’s exposed position leaves key squares vulnerable. The critical idea is that active pieces near the king can outweigh material and even a seemingly safe extra defender. In sharp classical chess, one forcing move can collapse the entire position.
