Learn How to Spot an F2-F7 Mate: Italian Game Tactics
This puzzle comes from an Italian Game / Evans Gambit structure where both kings are still in the center and tactical threats arrive fast. The key idea is an attacking f2/f7 pattern: when the queen and minor pieces coordinate, the enemy king can be dragged into a mating net. Even though White is materially ahead, Black’s active queen and knight create a direct king-safety problem that overrides static evaluation.
