Checkmate With Rook Chess Puzzles

Checkmate with rook is a mating pattern where a rook delivers the final attack on the enemy king, usually along a rank, file, or the back rank. Because a rook attacks in straight lines, the mate often works when the king’s escape squares are blocked by its own pieces or by your other pieces. In many positions, the rook mates with help from a queen, king, or minor piece that controls the king’s flight squares.
