Learn How to Spot Boden Mate: Mate in 1
This puzzle is a classic Boden mate example in a middlegame setting. The key idea is that two bishops cooperate to attack the king along crossing diagonals, often when the defender’s pieces and pawns block escape squares. Even though the position looks balanced materially, the king is already vulnerable to a direct mating net. In classical chess, these patterns reward pattern recognition more than calculation, because the mating move is often hidden in plain sight.
