Learn How to Win with a Fork: Caro-Kann Theory
This puzzle comes from the Caro-Kann Defense, Exchange Variation, where development and king safety matter more than raw material. White’s advanced knight and bishop create pressure, but Black can use the exposed king and loose pieces to generate a forcing tactical sequence. The key idea is that a checking move can also be a tactical move, especially when it attacks multiple targets at once and exploits a pinned defender. In classical chess, these short opening tactics often decide the game immediately.
