Learn How to Deflect: Queen Sacrifice
This chess endgame puzzle is a classic example of tactical deflection in a forcing sequence. Black uses checks to pull the white king and queen onto vulnerable squares, then exploits the exposed king with a decisive follow-up. Even though White is materially ahead, king safety matters more than extra pawns when the back rank and central squares are loose. In classical chess, these patterns often decide games immediately because the defender cannot coordinate in time.
