Learn How to Mate in 2: Kingside Attack
This puzzle shows a classic kingside attack where the defender’s pieces and pawn shield are overloaded and the king’s shelter is fragile. In these positions, the strongest idea is often to create a forcing threat that drags a key defender away from the king. The attacking side uses active pieces, especially a bishop and queen, to coordinate on the dark squares around the enemy king. Even when down material, direct mating chances can outweigh everything else in a sharp middlegame.
