Learn How to Spot Mate in 1: Kingside Attack
This puzzle is a classic example of a kingside attack that ends immediately because the enemy king has no safe squares and no useful interpositions. In middlegame positions, mating patterns often appear when the opponent’s pieces are overloaded or poorly placed to defend the king. Even if one side is materially ahead, a single tactical oversight can decide the game at once. Always scan for forcing moves first: checks, captures, and direct threats.
