Learn How to Spot Mate in 1: Mating Net
This puzzle is a classic middlegame mating net: the attacking side has active pieces, weakened king shelter, and a tactical finish that ends the game immediately. Even when material is equal, king safety can outweigh everything else. Look for squares around the king that are no longer protected by pawns, especially when a knight can jump into a strong outpost and create a direct mating threat. In practical classical chess, these patterns often appear after one side has overextended.
