Learn How to Mate in 2: Benoni Defense Theory
This puzzle comes from the Benoni Defense and shows how quickly a middlegame can collapse when the king is stuck in the center. White’s pieces are already active, and the key idea is to use forcing checks to exploit the exposed king and weak dark squares around it. In classical chess, tactical motifs often grow out of development leads, open lines, and poor king safety rather than raw material balance. Here, the attack works because the defender has too many loose pieces and too little time.
