Insufficient Material In Bishop Endgames Puzzle: Trade Bishops — Draw

This bishop endgame teaches an important defensive idea: a material advantage may disappear when the position forces a sequence of exchanges. White appears to have useful extra pawns, but the bishops are vulnerable and the kings are close enough to influence the final captures. Before assuming the passer will decide the game, calculate the liquidation carefully. If the bishops come off and the remaining pawn is lost, the result can be a theoretical draw because one side lacks enough material to checkmate.
